About Us
The SPM Disability Justice Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fiscal sponsor for disability justice initiatives led by disabled Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color (BIPOC).
A group of disabled BIPOC leaders formed the fund and obtained 501(c)(3) status in 2020.
In 2022 the board of directors hired a disabled nonprofit professional to administer the fund.
We are
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit fiscal sponsor for disability justice initiatives led by disabled Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color (BIPOC)
We support
the vital work disabled people are doing to create visibility, weave interdependent systems of care, and advocate for an inclusive future. As a fiscal sponsor, we help overcome barriers to funding the disability justice movement
We realize
a future where ableist barriers have been eliminated and all bodies and minds are valued for their essential contribution to our collective liberation
We value
those most impacted; meeting interdependent needs while shielding activists from state control; honoring our embodied experiences, and rest as revolution; care, emotional labor and resilience as essential
